Royal Jubilee Song Writing Challenge

To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Doncaster Stories has set a new challenge for Doncaster Schools!

Phil has created the below video to help schools write a song for the Queen. We’re changing the lyrics from the Christmas carol 12 days of Christmas to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II spending 70 years on the throne – the longest serving monarch in history!

The challenge has been split into three steps:

1. Ideas for the gifts – swap out the Christmas gifts for something spectacular for the Queen, the more imaginative the better.
2. Counting syllables – make sure that your ideas fit to the rhythm of the original song
3. Write the song!
